Engel Mayr is best known for being the guitarist, producer & songwriter for PUNK ROCK SINGALONG, RUSSKAJA, DORRETTA CARTER, PERCIVAL DUKE, HALLUCINATION COMPANY, BASTARD PEELS, DUO MAYR/TIEFENBACHER, as well as his own blues/rock trio (READ THE REVIEW IN RENOWN GITARRE&BASS MAGAZINE OF HIS LATEST RECORD BELOW!). He is also well known for playing some of the grooviest Funk and Soul music with HUBERT TUBBS and KRIS JEFFERSON. Besides touring internationally with various bands and artists he also performed lots of musicals like "West Side Story", "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Sweet Charity", "Annie Get Your Gun", "Evita", "Little Shop of Horror", "Camp Rock" and many others. Born in 1984 Engel Mayr picked up the guitar at the age of 8 and has never put it down since then. He studied Jazz Guitar with Edi Köhldorfer, Marcus Ratka and Peter Legat. Engel Mayr is one of the best booked guitar players in and out the country and loves to make music all day and night!
Engel Mayr teaches jazz guitar at JAM MUSIC LAB UNIVERSITY Vienna, Austria and is HEAD OF STRING DEPARTMENT BA.
